My server says it needs an update?

You may need to restart your server for the update to apply. All our servers now (July 2018) run on SHOUTcast 2.5. All new updates are tested by our team to assure your station stays up should there be a bug in the new release, that’s why updates might be rolled out by some delay. In the past this proved to be helpful.

We have also decided to not roll out SHOUTcast 2.6 as it puts existing features behind a paywall, for this reason we have decided to stay on 2.5 and change our official advice to choose Icecast instead of SHOUTcast.

UPDATE: SHOUTcast released a statement that SHOUTcast 2.6 will not be usable by CDNs (us), therefore we can not upgrade anyway.
